Great deals can be found after all!!, August 4, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: South Shore Logik Collection Twin Mates Bed, Pure White (Kitchen) I researched for quite a bit of time because of the negative reviews on this site and competitors and decided that the good would far outweigh the bad. Well surprise... surprise... they are GREAT! Having 3 young children I have found out the hard way that buying them expensive furniture/bedding etc., just isn't reasonable nor affordable. That is what originally piqued my interest in the South Shore Furniture line; the low price! I was excited to see that they were available through Amazon Prime and slowly realized, this is a good deal because of the free shipping.
Let's start off with shipment time: It isn't Prime standards but it does come rather quickly, at least quicker than the estimated delivery by arriving 3 days early. Others before me have stated the awkward/heavy box situation.... they are not LYING! Since Fed Ex was so polite in shipping nice and early (not) my husband was not there for the delivery. Once I realized it wasn't worth it, I finished putting it together and set it all up. Turns out it looks pretty decent, even better than I thought.
Putting it together was very straight-foward and took about 2 hours by myself.
Anyway, if you're looking for inexpensive, faux wood, Ikea quality furniture, this one is not bad. It looks very nice though.

It is NOT a high quality item, but it will do for my 5 year old and as I said...it was not expensive. The drawers are not all that big, but they hold some blankets and sheets. I like that the bottom is closed and things don't go under the bed all the time. I expect this to last until my son is ready for a larger bed )maybe 5-6 years). Really, if you can spend a lot more money on a solid wood bed then you should. However, if you are like us and you want to spend less then by all means, this will do just fine! Also, we got the matching headboard and it makes it sturdier and it makes it look complete! My son puts quite a few things on the headboard shelf...so glad we added that! I did see this bed and headboard at a Best Buys near us and it cost the same as here on Amazon. Amazon was great as usual. It was delivered a day or two before schedule and it was free shipping!
